Claud laid down the basis of this on our Fostex 8 Track. We then transferred it to the computer where I added the bass, guitar and (programmed) drums. Claud then recorded the Vocals "proper" and I mixed it.

As with Violet, Claud laid down the basis of this on our Fostex 8 Track. We then transferred it to the computer where I added the bass, guitar and (programmed) drums. When we were ready Jane Griffiths came over to our studio and laid down many tracks of Violin and Viola to form the string section. Then when that was all nailed I mixed it.

We recorded this at Courtyard with Ian Davenport at the controls. Pretty much all the backing was done live with the vocals overdubbed afterwards. Ian Davenport mixed it with intermittent interference from the rest of us.

Annie Moss started the recording on her 8 Track in her living room. Then she took the 8 Track to Phil Saatchi's studio where Phil recorded Steve Spring's drums. After that it was back to her living room for some vocals and the bass. Then I copied it all to my computer at my studio and put a rough mix down on her 8 Track so she could lay some more tunes down, back in her living room. Then it was back to mine to load it all back on the computer line it all up and do the mix.

This arrangement came out during a rehearsal at my studio. We got quite excited by it and threw mics around the room as quickly as possible then laid down most of what you hear live within a few takes. Phil Saatchi then overdubbed a few bits of guitar and vocal in his studio, before mixing it.
